All of us have a public persona that we strive to maintain at any cost. We have a reputation to maintain. It matters to us what opinion or image, people have of us. Those who say that they don’t care about their reputation are liars. Such liars probably care about their repute, more than others. We all want the same reputation of being gentle, truthful, charitable, lively, fearless, successful in life and relationships, with no malice, weakness, or fragility in character. How many of us are as good as our reputations are, that we strive to maintain. Do any of the revered holy people as holy as they pretend to be? Are we ready to admit how conflicted and in turmoil all of our lives are in and that none of us are as good as our reputation is? It is not that our life is terrible but that it is the very nature of life. We cultivate a reputation about our own selves which is removed from us. We all want to cast a beautiful shadow but not a true reflection. I guess this is how we maintain our self-esteem. I have a new goal in life. To live up to my reputation………
