Most of humanity is good and people are wonderful. Therefore life for most of us should be great. But it is not. The world appears to be full of deceit and evil. But wait, the dominance of that thought in all of us is created by the nefarious activities of only a few. Only a small minority of people are capable of nefarious activities which go beyond the pale of our imagination. But if we ask ourselves about what kind of a world we live in, it appears to be full of strive, suffering, disease, violence, injustice, destruction, and death. The majority of us believe, are perhaps convinced, that the world is headed in the wrong direction. Is this just a perception on our part or is this the reality and the truth of the world that we live in? There is no doubt that some people act nefariously all their life. However, the majority of human actions are full of love and kindness, and very few are nefarious. Is there a dichotomy between our perception and reality? Heinous crimes, abject poverty, and systemic injustice are no doubt a result of the nefarious activities of only a few. But silence against these activities is also as nefarious. The victims of these nefarious activities are very alone because of the nefarious silence of the majority of us. All of us are nefarious because of our actions or inaction and deadly silence. Our inured sensibility is deafening. The fact is that we are all nefarious, either because of the activities of a few or the passivity of the rest of us. Therefore it is not a perception but a reality that we all are and we live in a nefarious world……..
