We would all agree that the state of Felicity is what we all yearn for. Do we get there or does it come to us? If we actively seek a state of Felicity, the result is probably the exact opposite and probably leads to a lot of despair. Actively working towards this goal unlike the other goals in life is actually counterproductive. Why is that? It may be related to the fact that a state of Felicity is not a goal but an end that involves putting all the facets of life in order and alignment with each other. It is not only about learning to play an instrument or work towards advancing a specific goal in life but how to synchronize an Orchestra and enjoy the Symphony of life which perhaps is a state of Felicity. It is not only about professional success, relationships, friendships, overcoming failures, good health, dialing down the ego, hobbies, giving and receiving, tame yearnings, understand and control emotions, caring for oneself and everyone, coming to terms with Impermanence, self-criticism and seeking. A true state of Felicity is a Symphony of all of the above and more in perfect harmony. The Journey towards that goal does give incremental Peace if not happiness. The Journey continues…
