I love a clean dining table with no utensils, food or dust with the chairs tucked in place and everything is orderly. However there is something very alluring about waking up after a late night with friends at home and the dining table has stains, remnants of food all over, and the chairs in disarray. My wife of almost 26 years looks so beautiful when she dresses up with make-up on, but it does not compare to her allure when she is dressed simply with no make-up at all. Roses in a bouquet with that sweet smell hanging in the air brings so much joy. However a rose plant with the roses in all stages of growth, buds, in bloom and decaying with the scent of the roses and the soil mixed in, is sublime. Whatever is attractive and enticing is captivating and alluring. However how can a dirty dining table be more attractive than a dirty one at times? How can cereal served in bed on Father’s day be more tasty than pancakes at a fancy restaurant? Well, the allure of anything and everything does not have anything to do with the senses. The allure of a person, object, scents or food lies in how it makes you feel. If meeting a certain individual always makes you feel better, that is the allure.
